Lorne Peterson is one of the original members of Industrial Light and Magic (ILM) having been hired in 1975 to create the models for Star Wars. Since that time, he has worked on most of George Lucas' films as well as many of Steven Spielberg's productions.

In 1978, he was asked by George Lucas to move to Northern California to head the production of models for Empire Strikes Back. He has since then been the recipient of an Academy Award and the British Academy Award for the special effects work he did for Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom.

Lorne Peterson holds a Bachelor's Degree in Arts from California State University at Long Beach. Aside from his work he has done for ILM, he has done industrial design model making for McDonaldLand, JBL Speakers, Kikkiman and Yamaha Snowmobiles and the feature movie China Syndrone.
